EXAM PREP AND ELECTRICAL CALCULATIONS
|
Contractor exam prep classes are offered to any interested person. The courses prepare the attendee for the Electrical Contractor License Exam
for the City of Philadelphia, State of New Jersey or State of Delaware exam. Once you are prepared to take it, an exam can be scheduled for
any day of the week that fits your schedule.
The EEC success rate is the highest around. The course dates are planned in progression and do not conflict with each other.
Class size for my courses is limited. Reservations are based on the date of payment. Bring the black cover 2008 NEC book to class, not the blue cover NEC handbook.
Part 1 of 2: ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR EXAM PREP COURSE
Consists of eight weeks, Monday evenings 6:30-9:00PM
Prepare to take the exam the best way possible. The course includes actual timed tests. Learn how to use the only tool you are allowed to take into the test, the 2008 National Electric Code Book.
Part 2 of 2: ELECTRICAL CALCULATIONS COURSE
Consists of two weeks, Monday and Thursday evenings 6:30-9:00PM
Start with Ohm's Law of volts, amps and ohms, then progress thru single phase and three phase circuits. Motors are included. Size feeders, calculate ampacity, derating, determine voltage drop and learn much more that will be included in the exam. This course can only be completed after attending the Electrical Contractor Exam Prep Course.

NEC 2011 CODE CHANGES (10 hrs total)
|
Find out what new rules went into effect January 1st, 2011. AFCI's, GFCI's, tamper resistant receptacles,
weather resistant receptacles, color coding of branch circuit wiring, generators, Solar Photovoltaic, multi wire circuit protection
and much more will be covered. Don't waste valuable time and money doing things wrong or unnecessary or missing in the bid what has
to be done to meet the new NEC rules.

ELECTRIC CALCULATIONS I

Learn the essentials for electricians when working in commercial or residential. The first Electric Calculations Class is four hours and will include information on box fill, conductor ampacity, motor fuel load current, service calculations and other basic math-related information.

ELECTRIC METERING 101
|
In this one day class, important information related to basic services for both commercial and residential will be taught. Service Drops, installations, conductors, grounding of services are a few of the subjects are on the agenda; along with various methods of electronic metering in Single Family Dwellings, Multifamily Dwellings, Commercial etc.

NATIONAL FIRE PROTECTION ASSOCIATION 70E

Get ready for the pool install season. Learn the rules governing in-ground and above-ground pool wiring systems. Find out what

weather-resistant receptacles and in-use covers. Course includes spas and hot tubs.

RESIDENTIAL ELECTRIC 102 (8 hours)

This eight-hour class continues reviewing the changes mandated by the 2008 NEC that
weren’t covered in the Residential I class. This class focuses on installations and knowledge of electrical
appliances, voltage, and some basics on what is needed to install and repair these appliances
(dishwashers, baseboard heat, etc.). Information on outdoor electrics are also discussed, such as hot
tubs, and spas. Residential Electric 101 is a prerequisite for this class.
